The position of president will be retired, and Mr. Baird's duties will be assumed by Hamid R. Moghadam, the company's co-founder, chairman and CEO. Eugene F. Reilly, executive vice president, president North America and Guy F. Jaquier, executive vice president, president Europe & Asia and John T. Roberts, executive vice president, private capital will assume additional responsibilities, as well.
"Both Blake and I have worked hard over the past eight years to build AMB into the substantially larger, more successful company it is today. Recently, we have come to the conclusion that we have different views on the best business and organizational strategies to drive AMB's future success. As a result, we have mutually agreed that this step will best serve the company and Blake alike," said Mr. Moghadam.
"In January 2006, AMB restructured its operations along geographic lines that better meet the needs of our growing global platform and support our long-term business objectives. With Blake's departure, we will rely on our seasoned, senior-level operational officers who are in place to lead all of our global businesses. I have confidence in their ability to sustain our success," Mr. Moghadam added.
"On behalf of AMB, I want to express our gratitude to Blake for his deep commitment and significant contributions to AMB's growth over the past eight years. We all wish him well," said Mr. Moghadam.
